That is a lie, fake news, propaganda.

There is no evidence at all that either will apply for membership in May, or at any other time, other than media reports claiming they will.

They have said they could apply, could apply at the same time, but haven't confirmed any date or timescale, and both need to have parliamentary approval to make such applications which they don't yet have.
