One of Germany's biggest energy firms has said it is preparing to buy Russian gas using a payment system that critics say will undermine EU sanctions.

Uniper says it will pay in euros which will be converted into roubles, meeting a Kremlin demand for all transactions to be made in the Russian currency.

Other European energy firms are reportedly preparing to do the same amid concerns about supply cuts.

The EU said last week that if buyers of Russian gas could complete payments in euros and get confirmation of this before any conversion into roubles took place, that would not breach sanctions.

However on Wednesday, European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen sparked confusion by suggested companies doing this may be breaching sanctions after all.

If suppliers can't continue to dodge sanctions, many consumers facing shortages and soaring prices will be asking why their leaders were so stupid as to impose sanctions which harmed themselves more than Russia.

Some of those leaders will begin to wonder why they ever did that, how they got suckered into hurting themselves and their citizens on behalf of those who aren't being harmed by the sanctions they want imposed.

It shouldn't take long for people to realise America is getting rich on the back of their suffering and start to ask why that is, asking how much of this was engineered to simply benefit America, what part NATO has played in that.

One might even suspect the American plan all along was to divide Europe, destroy the EU, collapse the euro.

If one examines things in the light of a determined effort to secure America's supremacy, destroying all who can threaten that supremacy, a lot of things begin to make sense. It's been that way ever since Obama sent Victoria "Fuck the EU" Nuland into Ukraine to prevent Russia joining the EU and end hopes of peace in Europe.

It's said there's a sucker born every minute, and we know it's not that hard to get people cheering for their own destruction.

The real trick is in not having people recognise what's going on, why it's being done.
