Damn you, I've just had to fire up a spreadsheet, and google a couple
of bhp numbers...

Anyway, I win 22 wheels with 1317bhp = a smidge under 60bhp per wheel

I'll show my working....

As much as I loved my '82 GPz550, and it's by far the #1 bike I would
get back, if I was to "re-own" a bike from the past, there's no way
it is a 65 hp bike as stock. My SV650S was supposed to have ~65 hp,
and I know the 550, as great as it was, didn't have that much power.

http://www.yeoldecycleshoppe.com/roadtestlibrary/2017/3/9/1982-kawasaki-gpz550-road-test
48 hp according to Cycle's dyno graph.

The GPz750 was 65 hp according to Cycle.

<shrug> I got it from here:
https://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/kawasaki/kawasaki_gpz550_83.htm
From just a quick web search

Yeah, but i'm using manufacturers claimed, not measured figures. The
GPz750 had 82bhp claimed, from memory

I also owned a 1981 KZ750E2, and even with the hotter GPz cams and
porting treatment, there's no way it was putting out 82, much less
92.

Of course I'm aware that manufacturers routinely over-spec their
horsepower figures, which is why I try to refer to 3rd party
dyno measurements whenever I can.

I think the 750 would take 2nd place to my 550 as the bike I'd
most like to own again. Here they are when I briefly owned
both, around 1985.

I do recall this discussion and my BHP/wheel has been reduced somewhat with
the replacement of the ZZR with a GS so...

Jaguar XKR: 503
BMW R1250GS: 136
Audi A6 : 313

Total wheels: 10
Total bhp : 952

Avg bhp/wheel : 95.2

Still pretty impressive.

My E1 claimed 74, and Kawasaki's advertising made a big thing of it
being as powerful as an H2 (a proper one)

I can believe ~74 bhp for a Z750 (air cooled) of that era. Mine was
very sweet, although it had an odd penchant for the #1 carburetor
slide to hang up in the closed position from cold. I got so I could
dig into the carb throat while I was riding and unhitch it, by rolling
back the retaining spring, then put it all right, without needing to
slow down.

OK, I'll play*:

Dodge Ram 1500 220hp
Yamaha FJR 145

/6 wheels = 60.8 /wheel

[* = silly game, comparing a pickup truck with a motorcycle]

Snap. How bizarre!

MV 145
R1200GS (tweaked) 125
Fantic Hiro 250 43
Honda CRF300l (not yet arrived) 27

BMW 320D 163
VW T4 Van 102
Fiat Ducato 3.0 Rapido 157

762hp/20 wheels = 38.1

I think I'd do better with torques.

Probably the 1200; it's better on fuel and much more comfortable.

If there was something like the 'military road' in Georgia I might regret
it but I think besides that, the time we 'offroaded' in Germany, the
time we went through a stream somewhere in Spain... oh and the 'beach'
in Azerbaijan... All the routes have been pretty good.
