It would. It saves money and helps people keep on budget. Even if the healthiness of value brands is often far less than the unaffordable alternatives.

It's just a shame that supermarkets aren't stocking value brands, are only stocking higher priced brands, removing multi-pack items, upping the price of value brand essentials by over 100%, doing everything they can to gouge as much money out of their poorest and most impoverished customers, while reporting record increases in profits.

Useless Eustace earns £150,000 a year plus expenses so it's not surprising he's out of touch with those who earn a tenth of that and even less. That he has wealth estimated to be over £1 million might explain why he voted to reduce welfare and increase VAT.
