do their names get automatically included on electoral rolls ?

Or do they have make a separate effort to enroll ?

They would just have to enrol like everyone else. Everyone has to
enrol. Foreigners are no different.

Every time I move house I have to enrol. It is an offence not to enrol
to vote.

There must be methods used, perhaps by matching ATO/Centrelink records
with enrolments, to check whether people are enrolled or not.

If they are not enrolled, then they are prosecuted.

Nope.

Just checked with my mate, the kurd who married a kurd
back in turkey and she came here and eventually became
a citizen as soon as she could. When she became a citizen,
they sent her a letter and told her than she had to enrol.

Apparently I told them not to bother, tho I don’t remember saying that.

They later sent her a letter telling her that she had been
enrolled even tho she had not done anything about that.
