there does not appear to be any indication that she is, or was, a "mathematics
professor", neither on the web nor on Google Scholar; further

"An elementary mathematics teacher for 15 years, Ball, who also is the William H.
Payne Collegiate Professor of Education, an Arthur F. Thurnau Professor and a
research professor at the Institute for Social Research".

All this indicates a mistake, i.e. she is an Ed. Prof., not a Math. Prof.
