Police are appealing for information after a cyclist was hurt in a crash.

A white Mercedes Sprinter van collided with the cyclist at the junction of Fishmore Road and Summerfield Road in Ludlow on New Year's Eve.

The incident happened at around 7.20am and left the cyclist needing hospital treatment for head and leg injuries.

The driver of the van, a 41-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. He was later released and investigations were continuing.

A statement from West Mercia Police said: "Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the incident or may have dash-cam or CCTV footage of it.

"Anyone with information or footage is asked to visit this website quoting reference incident number 89i of 31 December 2021.

"Alternatively, if you have information but don’t feel comfortable speaking to police, you can speak to the independent charity Crimestoppers.

"It is 100 per cent anonymous, they never ask your name and they cannot trace your call or IP address. You can contact them online or by calling 0800 555 111."
