Mornin' from a dry, mild but with a light, gusty breeze, up
to 10 mph from the south. It is also overcast and misty too.
Temperature out there is 8C (46.4F) with the barometric pressure steady
at 1020.3 mB and RH showing as 84%. Forecast is much the same for the
rest of the day with the temperature to peak at 14C (57.2F) at around
mid-afternoon and then decreasing slowly to an overnight low of 10C
(50F). Have a great day one and all, not forgetting to continue
striving to stay safe.
Sootie went out again before breakfast and left me in bed, snoozing.
My lie in didn't last long and I was dishing out breakfast around 09:15.

That was the plan, but on the Monday they 'phoned to say that they
reckoned that I was too frail to have the op and return to an empty home
in one day. So the 'pacemaker' will be fitted on the afternoon of
Thursday 27th April, and I will be returning home on the Friday 28th
April after an overnight of observation. Touch wood !!!!! Of course
with the possibility of the cancellation of 250,000 procedures as a
result of the 'junior' doctors' strikes I'm not holding my breath. :(

Mornin' from a mild, bright, dry, sunny but a little gusty day here in
South Yorkshire. Temperature out there is 13.5C (56.3F) with the
barometric pressure falling quickly at 1001.8 mB and RH showing as 63%
and falling as well. Forecast is for the temperature to peak at 13C
(55.4F) in the early afternoon and then falling to an overnight
temperature low of 5C (41F). There will be the possibility of showers
this afternoon and complete cloud cover from about 16:00. Have a great
day but continue to remain safe.
Sootie was up, breakfasted and out around 09:15 whilst Tabby was
busy eating here meal on the kitchen window ledge. Both cats then went
off for ambles but Sootie returned to return to her bed in time for her
midday siesta.

Ahh, right. Thanks for the clarification.

I do have some sympathy for the junior doctors now I have seen what their
hourly rate works out at - just over £14/hour according to today's
paper. Of course this is possibly the starting point and a 10 year
'junior doctor' may well be on more but even so...

..... we never get to hear how much "non junior" doctors or GPs are paid,
because very few of them are directly employed by the NHS

Newspaper items quoting GP "salaries" can be very misleading

Maybe - but I was specifically referring to junior doctors, not GPs. You
can be a 'junior doctor' for many years. If you want to see what doctors

Great, so the hourly pay comes even lower. How many pounds/hour do you
think a junior doctor should earn? Is that based on contractual minimum
working hours or actual?

How many hours do you want a junior doctor to work before s/he attends to
you? Are you happy to be treated by an exhausted doctor who has had
little rest (or sleep) for the previous 18 hours and seen a wide range of
patients all with differing symptoms and then has to fill in the
'paperwork' as well?

Or are you just trolling?

no - I am actually on the side of the doctors.

I believe that excessive working hours is one of their biggest problems
(apart from the miserable pay rates)
