his plans to drop the BBC TV licence. Presumably that move would take
money out of all news services, reduce the value of all journalists, as
the overall pool of money available was reduced.

The media can have a huge effect, we saw that with Blair choosing to
form an understanding with Murdoch before his 1997 victory.

I hope who ever takes over carries on with the plan to drop the licence.

The BBC has for some time been running adverts for itself and for the
BBC "Licence".

What I *will* say is that the BBC has *no* business running a political

Was having a debate with SWMBO last night as to what type of unflushable
turd Johnson was. A really huge log, or one of those floaty jobbies that
keeps popping back after the flush. WE both reckoned a huge turd. The
sort that needs breaking into three before it will begin it's outbound
journey.

No. The 'creative' staff at the BBC, almost to a man and woman, lean
quite heavily to the left politically. There doesn't need to be any
particular reason for them to criticise the Conservative party, simply
that it exists.

The gov has some control over what the BBC and Channel 4 broadcasts for
news.

They have no control over what the Daily Mail, LBC, Guardian, Telegraph,
Times or Morning Star writes.

If ye privatise the BBC, they would eventually become another government
interfering Murdoch entity hell bent on their own profits rather than news.

Oh sod it, at this moment the media on all sides are more competent than
this government!
