What threw me is that I was sure I’d bought a couple of things from Kagi
many moons ago. Seems it was a shareware platform that died & these guys
just adopted the name.

Now you've mentioned it, the name Kagi is familiar. Maybe a shareware business
was the "previous exit" mentioned in the FAQ?

Just received an invitation to download iOS and macOS betas. The sender says feel
free to forward the invitation to anyone who may be interested! Anyway I'll give
it a whirl later today and report back.

I think it's still too early to give a proper review of this new
Orion browser. As Mark pointed out the iOS version is pretty basic
still and cannot even import settings from other browsers. The macOS
version at least allows import of Safari's settings apart from
passwords. it does seem pretty quick though! But, with apologies to
Diana Ross et al, "Lord, do we need another ....." browser?

it can't because everything is sandboxed for security. one app cannot
access another app's data, by design.

Good question! But no, not really.

What we need more evenly-distributed market share amongs more browsers, so
that behemoths like IE in the old days or Chrome now, or Safari on iOS, don't
get to undermine standards.

Simply having more browsers doesn't help that.

Still in beta but seems to be progressing quite nicely. I'm not sure
it will ever become my fave browser but worthy of a try out from time
to time. Now available via Homebrew! <https://formulae.brew.sh/cask/orion>
