Any recommendations for an Internet host provider? I'm looking to host a
small static web site and my email services. Linux preferred, obv.

I'm told that Oracle cloud will give you a SFP quad core ARM virchooal chamine
with 24 giggle bytes of RAM, not tried it yet thobut.

Norwich outfit. As long as they're there, I'm staying.

I moved to pair.com a few months ago. web & email hosting for
<$10/month, works ok. They keep emailing me about services being down
for a few hours while they install security patches ...

Krystal.uk seem to do everything and good tech support. I moved about 20
domains to them a year ago when easily.uk turned cr4p.
Moved some to ecohost too who also seem pretty good.

That looks really interesting. I would have to add some paid-for esrvices
but that looks like a good starting point.
