Well, the weather was drier and warmer than forecast. I must say that the
ore trains (68 wagons, 8,600 tonnes, 750m long) are impressive. Our 3-car
EMU wasn't quite on the same scale!

I believe that the ore now goes mainly to Asian steel mills.

You suggested back up the thread that the rail portion was timed 90
minutes. From vague memory, it took 45 mins to drop down to Narvik
once Rombaksfjord came into view.

That was on a 'lectric loco-hauled SJ service.
