I wish some would get over the idea that newer is better.

The IETs are less comfortable than the HSTs. (And the HSTs can survive
the a little spray at Dawlish which is more can be said for the IETs.)

The newly introduced TfW 197s are the most uncomfortable UK rolling
stock I've ever travelled on. The seats are so hard which is a shame as
otherwise they're very nice.

Not the original fleet. gWr's HST replacements were bought for the
route though. Yesterday was the second time I've seen an IET
thunderbird fail.

What get's me is the voyagers are banned during poor weather but the
IETs are allowed to continue to totally block the down line yesterday.

I think that, technically, only 800s and 801s are IETs.
