I've not heard of Seatfrog before, has anyone else used them?

Play).

Trying out the app, it was presumably written by a five-year-old.

Entering text (eg departure station) in the boxes only shows a little
less than half the text, and the T&C page [which I was looking at to see
who is behind this app] is blank.

There was plenty of publicity when Seatfrog launched. They had what
they thought was a great idea. If you're on a train and fancy an
upgrade you put in a bid for it. I thought it a terrible idea as it
presents yet another opportunity for an innocent passenger to be
kicked out of their seat mid-journey.

Luckily it turns out to be not-very-many trains.

And the reference above to "Trains over the Pennines" must be TPE, one
of their few subscribed TOCs; rather than any train that happens to be
going over the Pennines.
