I've been to Vegas a lot. And we got married there (for purely practical reasons, actually - because we couldn't get married in either of the places we lived at the time), so it holds a little sentimental value. But I think there are four key things about Vegas, that are worth bearing in mind: 1. the weather is great: hot with low relative humidity; 2. the hotels (in the context of the quality of the room) are extremely good value, because they are subsidized by the gamblers; 3. there are some absolutely top notch restaurants; 4. the shows are pretty great. Yeah, in an ideal world, I'd never go on a gambling floor or walk down the strip. But I've got to tell you, the pool at the Bellagio is very very pleasant. I've had some excellent meals there (the steak place at the Mandalay Bay has particularly fond memories for me). And I've seen a number of shows that were totally worth it.

for motorcycles.

Just for the tremp, we arrived early afternoon, on the northside and
then had to ride all the way south to our hotel (the Tropican, which
seems to have gone now).

It was a tad warm on the bikes.

Like all places there are good and bad aspects. I was particularly taken
with the newly-weds promenading down the strip in the early evening
while wearing their wedding suits and gowns, and being applauded by the
crowd. It seemed so nice - so un-cynical - that I couldn't ever imagine
it happening in the UK.

But if you're not gambling or planning to see a bunch of shows then 3
days is plenty. :-)

near Lodz. Even with a new tube your tyre kept going down but I think that was
down to a fucked valve core.
