I bought one second-hand (garage sale) and what a load of shite.
Their website has no user manual, except for quick-start guide, and 2
YooChoob videoze to reset or pair bluetooth. If it does all the
functions claimed, I would expect about 50 pages.
So you have to figure it all out before battery goes flat in yer phone.
I don't have a laptop with Bluetooth, but I would hope the Windoze app
has some documentation built in.

What app are you using on your phone?
The adapter should work with any of the many apps.
"Torque" is one of the best and you can get a free version with a pretty
good help file and its only a couple of dollars for the "pro" version.

just their obdlink app for android. I thought I would give it a whirl,
using phone. My brother has one of those scan tools with just 3 buttons
and 2 arrow keys and crappy screen that's like 300x200 pixels. I was not
influenced to buy one of them.

Depends what you need it to do, if you just want to read and clear fault
codes a cheap tool works well enough.
The price goes up and up depending on what functions you need or want.
I have an Autel MS906BT which cost about $1600.00, great tool good
enough for most mechanics.

A complete waste of time and money in your hands however.
