Well, strictly what I've done is set it to "Do not disturb" from 03.00 until
02.59. That way I never see it and in particular the unwanted "upgrade to
Monterey" one which is undismissable without getting the App Store all
excited. I mean really - who the hell do Apple think they are? Microsoft?

I struggle to remember any useful notification - ever.

Out of interest... how/where do you change those settings? I can never
see how to do it in "Notifications".

In Notifications, select Do Not Disturb in the left column, then turn it on
and set the timings in the right pane.

Good idea. I'm getting annoyed by that notification because *my Mac doesn't
support Monterey* (late 2013 MBP) but yet they're still pushing it.

(then the excitable App Store starts asking for my Apple ID, and yet more
popups...)

At least on Windows a lot of this stuff can be turned off in group policy.

I ought to try this when running my Mojave virtual machine. Thanks for the
info.
