You didn’t know Rishi was a listener to TA? ‘Wouldn’t miss a single
episode’ I think I heard him say. Well, having heard this week’s sorry tale
about the lack of Sterling’s sterling, Rishi has made a special ‘one off’
grant to the ‘Save Gay Grables’ funding website which will enable all the
staff to be retained on 80% salaries for the next 18 months. There will
also be funding to the tune of £50M to redevelop GG and incorporate a
memory clinic for the SW’s, an on-site creche for the staff’s offspring, a
permanent facility for an AA clinic (including a very extensive cellar with
controlled temperature zones facility for wines). Oliver is to be pensioned
off in his own purpose built retirement suite to be named the Caroline
Wing. The staff will be running the whole complex as a cooperative and
Rishi has zero rated all development and running costs for the first 5
years after opening - all services will also be zero rated during these
years.

No don’t worry, I only had muesli for brekkers.

I'm looking forward to Mike's forthcoming book, The Electric Muesli Acid
Test (working title: The Kandy-Kolored Rye Flake Streamline Baby).

Our muesli mix is loosely based on the Hairy Bikers’ recipe: Jumbo oats,
puffed brown rice, flaked or chopped almonds, dried mixed fruit, chopped
dried mango and chopped dried apicots.

I used to enjoy one of Dorset Cereals' offerings, despite its
cost, but they stopped making it.

I now combine Sainsbury's Fruit, Nut & Seed Muesli 50/50 with
their Sultana Bran. (1) A generous portion, eaten with yogurt.

(1) No longer stocked at my store, so I have to mix my own using
their Bran Flakes (reassuringly inexpensive).

‘Apicots’ are a family word, but I have forgotted how it came about.

Any sensible hotel owner at the start of the second lockdown started
making plans for thorough refurbishment (eg Headland Hotel Newquay) to
ensure that they re-opened to maximise the business once the nastiness
was all over. Oliver should have been doing that then, not now when
there is a premium to be had as UK vacation may still be excellent
business this year.

I was once hired to make a film of a cabinet minister addressing a
conference at the Headland. It was very boring, but well paid.

I'm a Sainsbury's Fruit, Nut & Seed man, too. I then mix a generous
selection of fresh fruit onto it - melon, strawberries, raspberries,
blueberries, nectarine etc. Makes a delicious (and colourful) breakfast
with a decent cup of coffee[1].

[1]Sainsbury's Colombian Decaf nowadays for cardiac reasons. Caffeine
or no caffeine, it is still a very tasty coffee, IMO.

Being free of caffein, it is better for me than coffee - ‘twas not
difficult to comply when the oncology bods advised to avoid caffein, I had
been drinking it for years (Barleycup that is) and haven’t had coffee for
some years. Drinking chocolate (high cocoa % is my other tipple).

I used to drink lots of coffee in the mornings, the more caffeine the
better. I drunk it with a little semi- skimmed milk added. I found
myself bouncing off the walls by lunchtime. Then I went on a diet,
called the Atkins in those days, but low carb now. For the first month
tea and coffee were out of the question. I kept it up for about six
months, and lost a lot of weight, but realised I didn't really like tea
or coffee, I was just drinking them because it was the done thing. I now
have a cup of coffee about once a month, but it has to be good stuff
from our coffee machine (Wofe has coffee every day) made with double
cream and half a teaspoon of granulated sweetener. I tried tea recently,
and wondered how I could ever have drunk the horrible stuff.

Have you ever tried Rooibos (Redbush)? I thought I'd give it a go some
years ago just because Mma Ramotswe spoke so highly of it. Discovered
it was THE tea for me.

Since spending a year in Switzerland about 60 years ago I have preferred
tea without milk and it has to be very, very weak. I can leave a
Rooibos teabag in my mug (glass, of course!) for ages and the tea never
gets too strong. It is also caffeine-free, which is probably a Very
Good Thing.

I drink tea wihtout milk too. I like tea abroad, it's weaker and more
scented. But inthe UK I get this
https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/clipper-white-tea-bags--organic-x20

I have tried Rooibus as #1 daughtre had some. Didn't like ti. I also
drink mint tea but not most otehr herbal ones and not green tea.
I like some read mint in it and we are currently seeing 2 kinds of the
6 we planted a couple of years ago in the garden. One is good, the
other not so much. Good is like Arabic.

I have 2 mugs of coffee at tea time. One with skimmed milk, 1/3, hot,
and one black. made in a cafetierre

We have some in our drinks cupboard. I bought it because there was some
in our church prayer room, and people were surprised and delighted to
find it there. Maggie tried it and pronounced it seriously unpleasant. I
haven't tried it myself, but may pluck up the courage to do so one day.

I tried green tea and didn't like it at all, but I do like quite a few
"scented" or "flavoured" teas. I am an occasional customer of
tipsnleaves.com which I heartily recommend.

Can't be doing with black coffee, but I have a Tassimo machine (*) and
LOVE the coffee it makes. I usually set my machine for "large cup" and
"extra hot". I drink mostly Latte Macchiato but also a lot of the Costa
flavoured lattes - Gingerbread mmmm! Caramel mmmm!

(*) Actually I have 2 because missing my coffee so much when I stayed
with my sister I bought a machine for her house as well, though it's one
of the lesser models which doesn't have all the bells and whistles of my
home machine.
