Normally I use PC Case gear in Melbourne, but reviewing the product list
and they have holes and mismatches in their AMD line up. Shades of the
experience of dealing with MSY.

I'm looking for bottom end AMD 2000 mobo & cpu with realtek NICs.
These are just for three headless servers. They'll be way over powered
for the load they'll carry, but that is fine.

Unfortunately, the last blackout and bouncing return managed to kill two
systems, so I need to get more systems in and get an electrician in to
replace. the GPO surge protectors.

Never had an issue with Scorptec in the past. That said, I only ever
used their local store, never their mail order services. Used them from
when they operated out of a single shopfront in Melbourne's SE suburbs.
Moved away from Melbourne 9 years ago so my recommendation may be
somewhat dated but the fact they still exist and have expanded mightily
indicates they are still Ok. I also used to use Centrecom, they were Ok
back in the day and I also use their online service occasionally.

I've ordered items from PCCaseGear last week and one of the items is
on backorder until June! What a surprise.

Was covid-19 the reason? I fail to see how since online ordering is the
tye f business that has boomed through out this pandemc.

I've thought for a while that "in stock" really means that it is listed
as 'in stock' at their suppler and this results in an occasional item
being sold too many times from their suppliers stock.

I also suspect that the only supplies you can reasonably expect to be 'in
stock' at the place you purchase from, are the components they use to
make up their standard stock items, like home Pc, office pc, various
games pc, etc.

At one stage, I managed/'was sole worker' for a book mail order concern
and each day started with a trip to the post office to post yesterdays
order and collect the post with todays orders, a bank visit to deposit
cheques, money orders, etc, then back to the office to pick and pack
today's orders.

So, if stuff really is in stock, there is no reason why it can not be
couriered the same/next day., but IME, a weeks delay is normal, even from
PCCasegear.

Never had that with anything I have bought from them
and I have bought more from them than anyone else.

How odd that you cant show even a single example of that.

They give technical advice to their customers too, and they're open
Saturdays to 2.30pm. Also, they take cash!

My password manager does that auto.

Don't need that.

Online is open 24/7/365 stupid.

Yep, and that fuckwit is so fucking stupid that no matter how
many times I told him that, he keeps running the same line.

Philthy is even worse, he has decided I must be the cop
that fucked him over who has a similar name but is so
fucking stupid that he cant even manage to work out that
the first name isnt the same, let alone the middle names.

No one else in the entire fucking world has the same full name as me.

In Campbelltown, 2560 NSW, they just sell broken crap they couldn't

At inflated ridiculous prices,
Online shopping rightly helps destroy these bastards!

Unfortunately the only local PC store here, which has been going for well
over a decade is strictly gigabyte and MS windows orientated. Any thing
else = nahh. I do occasionally fling them business by ordering odd
peripherals, dvd pockets, keyboard and mouse type stuff. They are handy
to have around.

The ones in the next suburbs over are less helpful and have hot & cold
attitudes.

If they are not prepared to courtesly answer even the dumbest question,
then you can not begin to trust them to usefully answer the hard ones.
I've always respected some one who answers "I don't know, but I'll find
out".
