Personally, I think usenet can be saved if they rejected any cross
posting.

I have always used "News.Individual.NET" a paid server but they only
stop posting to more than 4 groups, not receiving from crazy number

One can't, of course, rely solely on server side solutions.
More intelligent newsreaders all provide sophisticated filters which can
get rid of much of the disturbing Usenet static.
My reader allows filtering also according to the number of cross-posted
groups.
Of course, those using Google Groups are stuffed.

However I would agree that shutting down multi offender spam NNTP servers
like Dizum for instance would certainly help cleaning up Usenet from the
mass infestation by kooks, retards and malicious political trolls.

Dizzum posts are annoying, but not annoying enough to install a usenet
server, did this years ago on windows worked well. Easy to stop Dizzum
