It's still spam, usually unwanted on a Usenet group.

Selling legal services is generally itself legal, but the first legal
business to advertise on Usenet caused a bit of a fuss, nearly thirty
years ago.

I've not seen any, but I have set up filters against such spam on other
newsgroups, so they are probably being deleted before I see them.

Duh. I was commenting on his question about why
we were seeing more of that than we used to.

Irrelevant to why we are seeing more drug pushers spamming in here.

Oh I doubt that, I suspect the real answer is because it costs nothing at
all, and so they do it. Then when we all put in rules to stop it, they will
go elsewhere. Indeed, I do wonder if they really get any business from this
kind of thing. Its hardly a good recommendation when you see the same lot
changing their name and contact details all the time. Its quite obviously
the same people, and who would send good money to such a fly by night
outfit? You could end up with a load of dummy pills or something highly
dangerous. Best grow your own mushrooms! - if indeed that is your thing.
