*The federal government has failed to lead on net zero and international
borders while Nationals and states muscle in*
/ Analysis, 7.30, ABC News by Laura Tingle /
< https://tinyurl.com/yfnlh6lb >

"A couple of weeks ago, without consulting the states, the Prime Minister
announced he would be re-opening the international borders in states
where the vaccination rate had hit 80 per cent.

"It's time to give Australians their lives back," Scott Morrison said, in
what appeared for all intents and purposes to be a move designed to
ensure he was the bloke getting the credit for opening things up,
whatever states and territories might be doing, not to mention giving the
whole opening up thing a good nudge along the way.

The fact he hadn't mentioned it to the states — despite the significant
ramifications it has for them as the ones responsible for trying to
manage the spread of COVID-19 and the quarantine system (offloaded by the
federal government) – meant the Prime Minister could hardly complain on
Friday when the new NSW premier Dominic Perrottet returned the favour by
announcing his government would be removing both quarantine requirements
and caps on overseas arrivals from November 1.

Perrottet didn't mention it to any of the other states either of course,
leaving the country in an apparently ludicrous shambles of restrictions.
As many people have pointed out, NSW residents will be able to travel
from Sydney to Paris, but not Brisbane, Perth, Tasmania, the Northern
Territory or even Canberra. ... "
~~

The LNP's COVID response right from the beginning, both at the Federal
and State level, can properly be characterised as completely chaotic
without any foresight of consequences, without proper long term planning,
without an honest interest in people's well being, and mostly
concentrating on the possible negative effects of the pandemic on profit
margins in the business world.

OK, I am being a little harsh with the above assessment, but clearly the
LNP's performance in this *ongoing* pandemic is far removed from
desirable.

This current Gung-ho much too early opening up everything on the run
approach by the NSW premier and those approving noises the good for
nothing ScoMo utters on this topic is far removed from what a well
justifiable science based pandemic repose should be.
Allowing international travel at this point to countries riddled with
COVID will be paid for by lives lost and hospitals overloaded with the
sick and possibly dying yet again. But hey, on the only upside the share
portfolios of the LNP puppet masters with keep on thriving.

Here I show you:

Just look no farther than the Liberal Party of Australia and
its dumb coalition partner:

This is their fundamental ideology (if one can call it that):
Capitalist neo-liberal/libertarian lies and alternate reality,
Lack of compassion for the already downtrodden,
Sociopathic greed & envy,
Endemic nepotistic and plutocratic corruption,
Vicious hunger for power and "born to rule mentality",
Xtian fundamentalism
Never ending misogyny & homophobia
Undeniable Anglo-Celtic racism and supremacy,
Unbridled hate for the underclasses,
Unrelenting vengeance seeking against political opponents...

The Prime Minister of NSW and the Premier of Australia want you to forget who took your lives away (if you are in Sydney and Melbourne)-
Scomo for not ordering enough vaccines, and NSW who did check up on the limo company that drivers were tested and vaccinated.

Only those who died have had their lives taken away
and its unlikely that they are fretting about that now.

But who organised local manufacture of one.

That wouldn’t necessarily have fixed the problem.

Read that article this morning and can't disagree with her assessment of
what's failed to happen on the part of the govt. More than ever Josh is
emerging as a replacement PM.
