Saw that on the news last night, one to be stationed in Vic, the other
in NSW.

Possible, but unlikely, AirBus floated the idea of an A380F years ago
but nobody was interested. It would be a difficult conversion with 2
decks to reinforce, and the supporting structure for the upper deck
would probably need to be beefed up. Then there would be 2 big holes to
cut in the fuselage vs 1 for a single deck aircraft, not to mention the
need for new handling gear on the ground to reach the upper deck. One
reason that nobody was originally interested was that the volume
exceeded the weight carrying capacity, that's not so much of a drawback
these days but there are much easier and cheaper conversions available.
AirBus wouldn't be interested, they're pushing the A350 freighter instead.

There are obvious reasons that, no matter what, you're never going to
fit a Chinook in an A380 no matter what you do.
