QUOTE:
The cost of storing a fairy-bike in a hangar [ie, a specialised dustbin
- Ed.] is five times higher than a car parking permit in some areas of
London.

[Who cares? - Ed.]

Only six boroughs offer fairy-bike storage at cheaper or similar rates
to the cost of a permit and in 10 boroughs electric vehicles can be
parked free of charge.

Fairy-cyclists can pay up to £107 for fairy-bike hangar usage annually,
despite taking up much less space than drivers do.

Simon Munk from the London Fairy-Cycling Campaign said that the price
disparity was "discouraging" fairy-cycling in the city.

The #ThisIsAwkward campaign, which was launched in March, showed
Londoners storing fairy-bikes in unusual places around their homes.

"...storing fairy-bikes in unusual places around their homes..."

We've seen at least one of them here in the NG, in the past. Haven't we?

But on the main point(s), I couldn't agree more.

All parking-permit schemes on marked out spaces on the public highway
should be scrapped, whether for motor-vehicles or for these new dustbins
for fairy-cycles.

If you cannot garage your vehicle on land you privately control (whether
through ownership or rented occupation, *off* the street), then do not
obtain buy or accept use of the vehicle. Not never, not nohow.

Fairy-bikes can, in any case, and as we already know, be easily
accommodated in the kitchen, so aren't as much of a problem. Don't worry
too much about the dog-droppings caught up in the tyre treads.

Some were reported as storing their bicycles in the bath, which perhaps
accounts for the BO.
