Keeping the title off topic to ensure I don't add to it, but it appears the fuckwits might be at it again. My two local filling stations, Sainsburys and BP both without sans plomb - both flavours E5 and E10. Hopefully just a blip - fingers crossed.

just been out for a walk and noticed that the Applegreen place has none of
the black stuff. Both flavours of green stuff available. It has a Keyfuels,
high pressure jobbie for trucks and close to the retail/industrial park so
bound to get hit as businesses try to mitigate against rising costs.

Maybe they can't afford to top the tanks up... recent quote for heating oil was
£1.29 per litre. In Nov 2020 it was £0.2655, Nov 2021 £0.5255

I went to fill the car up with black stuff at Asda three or four days
ago, and of the 16 pumps, 8 were diseasel only, the other 8 were both
diseasel and E10.

A little way down the A5 there are two petrol stations opposite each
other, which normally have the same prices. On Saturday when I went
past, one was 5p/l cheaper than the other. Strangely, despite the prices
for each being visible from the A5 at the same time, cars were turning
into the more expensive one (even turning right into it rather than
turning left into the cheaper one).

It's been like that in the West Country since the weekend. They're idiots.

they filled up in the last 24 hours

I stopped there on the way home on the R1200RS

E10, 1.479 which is 5p a litre less than the Tesco I passed, and 12p a
litre less than the BP in Stow on the Wold. Plus it is actually on my route
home so minimal deviation.

I know, absolutely crazy. I had thought about filling up a month ago but looking
at my 'records' the price tended to reduce as the weather warmed up and I've got
enough for another 2-3 months.

Price of heating fuel does yo-yo around more than road fuel, I guess because there's
a lower amount of duty on it (10.7p vs 59.7p) so the fluctuations in oil price aren't '
damped' as much by the duty?

Blimey, I can see I am going to be gulping in shock on my next visit, still
paying the equivalent of £0.37 a litre for RON95.

So you can wait then. Of course, the judgement is whether the price
will get worse. But I think the current oil price is the market
shock.
