Like my approach to the purchase of musical instruments then - it is
easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

About 30 years ago SWMBO tried to put in place a Bikes+ Guitars must not exceed 10 rule. It occasionally comes up as an issue and I usually counter with pairs of shoes + handbags must not exceed 15 and it goes quiet.

Current total is 2 bikes + 3 guitars, the 4 Ukulele don't count under her original statement!. Even if they do its still 9. However I am in the market for a small trail bike and a Fender Telecaster.

The last two vehicular arrivals were surprises, and neither were taken well.. I have promised to inform ahead of the day of delivery. As the new acquisition will be sent straight to a classic motorbike workshop for some essential items (notably: putting the engine back in the frame), I suppose I have a little bit of time to play with.

I've not had a numeric limit attempted. But when I discuss things that I'd like in the future I get a pointed reminder of how few miles each vehicle managed in 2021. My retort is that I'm preparing now for being less time-poor at some point in the future.

Could be worse. I even took M along the day I traded the car for a van, and at this rate she's never going to let it lie.
