All...

I ordered a dell pc on AU ebay.
Are these built in the US and shipped here? I ask because just got an
email saying it was built, and ready for shipping. Now saying shipped
12th May. I'm going on a weeks hols next week, so if it's built here I
may miss the delivery. No email with tracking number yet.

Also, the pc I ordered had a 10th gen I7 in it, the one they have built
has a 11 gen I7 11700 cpu. I no complain!

Most for Oz are built in Singapore, from bits made in Thailand,
Malaysia, and even cheaper places.

Usually arrives about three days after the, "Shipping now", message.

Penang, Malaysia most likely - but certainly not here or the US.

Thanks Gary. Still sitting on "shipped 12/05/21" with no further email
or tracking, so if it turns up late next week, there will be someone to
accept it.

Cheers.

They bought the company that I worked for, they paid $67 billion for it.
That's the size that they are.

Box arrived whilst I was away (typical!), with Made in Malaysia stamped
on it.

as an aside, it appears their monitors came from Sydney. I just snaffled
one, a 28" for $189. Bargain imho.

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/324294459029?epid=8041092753&hash=item4b8174be95%3Ag%3A2PUAAOSw1PpfYK4E&_trkparms=%2526rpp_cid%253D607457971d6413c7849e550b

It's cheaper than their 24" model, so i wonder if they cocked up?

As always, check the specs carefully to make sure they will do what you
want. IME, a lot of the cheaper/economical monitors are just basic
resolution which are okay for text/basic gui.

other things to watch out for are the inputs, especially if you are
starting to buy gpus from higher resolution and/or refresh rate.
