With spouts I cook them in the oven, remove outer leaves, cut in half ad oil (cooking; not 3 in 1 doesn't taste right )
and black pepper. Seems to add sweetness to them.

It was one of the few things I've seen on masterchef that I could actually cope with and cooking them in the oven with the spuds and
whatever else saves energy and effort :-)
