Experimental ship registered in Bahamas. Paying tourists passed off as
"mission specialists". Operating always out of US and Canadian waters,
subject to little if any rules or regulations. Fires and sues any older
white guys who bring up safety issues - All the things you'd expect from
a shifty, rule breaking con artist trying to entice rich white guys to
share their fortune with him.

In fairness, the guy was a legit adventurer, for sure. An extreme
adventurer. I think he had legit aspirations of exploring as well,
pushing boundaries for sure - But his primary motivation was $$, and
thats a very dangerous combo.

If he wanted to push boundaries in a novel, uncertified submersible,
fine. He could have done like Cameron did and made a 1 man vessel, and
pushed boundaries till he turned blue ,, But no, wheres the profit with
no passengers ?
So it appears he was using the Titan to fund his further dreams and
aspirations, and in the process became somewhat maniacal about the whole
thing, and 4 innocent lives were lost directly as a result.
That can easily be seen in retrospect but many people called it out well
before his disaster.

So are any of his all white crew culpable, complicit in the deaths
wrought by this vain, greedy egomaniac dreamer ?

Quite possibly, it would seem likely they were infected by his spirit of
breaking rules, pushing boundaries, exaggerating and flat out lying to
lure rich customers into the deep - After all, their jobs depended on a
steady flow of uber rich tourists. They saw what happens to employees
who question him, and had no wish to land in court, unemployed, for 2nd
guessing "the boss".

Canadian criminal probe not likely, not even clear why/how they would
have any jurisdiction for that. The one thing that ties the whole sordid
affair to Canada is the mothership is registered in Canada. More than
likely is will be a placid work place safety type of investigation, the
findings of which nonetheless may well be interesting.

What sort of investigations will be launched by US authorities remains
to be seen, CG at this moment is still focused on searching and possible
recovery of wreckage.

Seems likely this guy would have a network of shady off shore banks as
well to stuff his loot into, better follow the $$ trail quick before his
heirs have a chance to drain it, probably doing that as we speak.
