Cf the French Café au lait...Lait/latte is from the Romance languages.
Milk/milch/melk/mjölk/mælk are Germanic.
Which shows we must have had cows (also Germanic) before 1066. And the
Normans didn't drink milk or eat cheese too much.

It can also be a car make. Citroen.

The Dutchies also call it "citroen" where the "oe" is pronounced "oo" as
in "pool".

Us Italos call it "limone" so I guess the Frenchies are wrong, because.

If you look the spelling is Citroën, there's two dots over the e to
indicate that it is sounded separately from the o. The French do
pronounce it that way and hardly understand if you use the usual
English pronunciation.

Didn't Toyota change the name of the MR2 for the French market because
of what is spells in French?

That's certainly the story, I don't know if they changed the name, I
was just told that the MR2 didn't sell well in France as a consequence
of its name.

There was a VW - Polo, I think - which had to be sold in the US under
another name because the name meant something impolite in Spanish.
