Ths flaptop screen started flapping more than it should, and it turned
out that the metalwork that was holding it together had snapped. Not a
major problem, as I have an identical one with a dead motherboard. Swap
the piece of metal and all will be well...

I wish. I ended up doing a complete stripdown of both machine and it
turned out that putting the good motherboard into the dead machine was
the easiest way to solve the problem.

Good job it is a corporate type machine, which means most repairs only
need a couple of screwdrivers.

Just to top things off, there are now scratching noises coming from the
loft above the flat to go with the coo-ing from the pigeons. With any
luck, they are improving their nest, and haven't invited the local rats
in for tea.

In our case it would be ehqql , well common grey, fdhveeryf.
