What they could have done is have 3 cops. One cop is confronting him,
one is aiming a taser at him, the other a gun.

The taser gets fired first, then if that fails, which is unlikely, the
other cop fires the gun.

What happened instead was distasterous and is what happens when people
like you decide what happens in policing.
