I suggest that you should set max value allowed for temps.

Pretty sure they are not enabled by default.
You have to make configuration file changes.
Quick scan of my install/change scripts finds this custom
drop-in file and settings

# grep core /etc/sysctl.d/xx__sysctl.conf
