web browsing without fancy craps), etc. ;)

I literally never get spam to my header email address. I assume this is
because no one knows what a header is anymore, and if I put it in the
body text it would be spam-o-rama.

So I would suggest it's because headers are arcane, ancient magic and
work as obfuscation in and of themselves.
