Given nobody spends _less_ than Apple in R&D, it's likely Apple spends one
hundred times more in marketing their products - than in testing them.

That's why Apple _never_ finds these huge security vulnerabilities which
are in their entire product line - and have been there for many years.

*Apple has _never_ tested its products sufficiently*, and the fact these
bugs are widely exploited in the wild on Mac, iPhone, and iPads is proof.

Like most big companies, Apple also probably spends more than is
reported as "R&D" due to being used in undisclosed projects. Work for
things like the much-rumoured Apple Car is likely to come under a
separate heading like "Special Projects" or similar, or even not
disclosed by 'hiding' it in a spin-off company without any noticeable
connection to Apple itself.

The sheer number of patents Apple is granted each year is also proof of
a lot of development work going on, even if most of those patents are
never used in actual products.

This update is no more important than the all the other updates Apple
regular releases. For some idiotic reason this particular one has been
massively over-hyped by some news media, and then simply copied by all
the other news media.

all. Loads of companies spend millions / billions of dollars and come
out with useless crap or go bankrupt (Microsoft probably a prime
example). Meanwhile a company wth zero R&D expenditure could come up

least a half dozen classes in macro and micro in addition to marketing.

If you do NOT have any knowledge of business administration, then, of
course, you wouldn't be aware that R&D is typically reported that way.

Worse than having no background in economics, if your only goal is to
defend all of Apple's flaws to the death, for no other reason than you hate
every topic that doesn't claim Apple is the best, then you won't
understand.

However, intelligent knowledgeable people _do_ exist.

They know that R&D expenditure is one of the key components needed to
understand how a high tech company operates strategically.

Also, as with every business (not just high tech), R&D expenditure versus
pure marketing expenditure (e.g., Coca Cola) tells you what they really
