I have some really old HDDs that are incredibly reliable from more than 15 years ago. HDTune and other applications say they are in perfect health.

In contrast, my NVMe and SSD or hybrid HDD drives seem to be less reliable.

Based on my rough calculations, at the current rate of limited writing on my NVMe drive, I will need to have it replaced in about 3 to 4 years.

As I'm a senior, I'm on a fixed income and I don't like the idea of having to buy a new laptop in 4 years because it's likely the NVMe drive in 2240 format will be difficult if not impossible to find. It'll be very expensive, too if I find one not used.
