Nope.

I think you folks are wrong.
The "list" request still returns all the nyms in use from both paranoici and from the mix nym server.
The "is-not-my.name" server is apparently no longer a thing, tho.
That is the last nym I had.

Why don't more people run nym servers?
I live in the United States, where the First Amendment rights are protected, generally. It seems as tho we should be able to run nym servers all over the place in this country, not to mention the even freer countries like Denmark, Norway, New Zealand, etc.

Whassum with that?

No pain with OM. Don't wanna go to bed with Alphabet or Facebook.

Even non-ASCII letters ("Thaddæus Eckard") are transmitted correctly.

After using OM to set up the "Luigi" account at the nym server I created
that Persona within FA

All my Agent traffic runs through OM, and from there is forwarded
dependent on the above-mentioned message header switches. I just have
to compose my message within FA, select "Luigi" from the Persona
pull-down menu and click the "Send Message Now" button. Nym replies are
also downloaded from OM by simply clicking "Get New Email".

As Forté still struggles with some Unicode character sets, with more
exotic languages I also use Thunderbird. Unfortunately TB doesn't
provide FA's excellent custom header support, which makes life with OM
very easier.

BTW, as both, OM and FA, are portabe software, it's easy to run that
combination from an external storage device, detached while not needed.

It's all done at the ModNym tab. From there you open the Configurator
window to configure your nym. On the Nym Configurator's "Nym Routing"
tab you compose / modify your nym's reply chains with a few mouse
clicks. Or leave that list empty to get a direct newsgroup posting
similar to a Zax type nym service. Finally at ModNym select "Create ..."
or "Modify the selected nym account" and click "Send Msg" to upload the
new configuration to the nym server.

You only have to have a mail client to receive and reply to confirmation
requests like

It depends.

I wouldn't collect my standard mail in a program that I'll abandon after
testing it for a short while.

I myself use Forté Agent for all my in- and outgoing mail and Usenet
messages for more than two decades, and for many years route all traffic
through OM, as its header filter is also usefull with standard mail.

There's a header section sample at
<https://danner-net.de/omom/tutornymsend.htm> from where to start.

But for nym usage you can take any mail client you like and send
messages even with the integrated Mailer, as

- with outgoing messages OM checks whether the From address matches one
of the nym addresses it's aware of and whether that nym account is
assigned to the logged in user. It's then processes as a nym message,
forwarded to the nym server in line with the parameters set at the
SetNym|Send tab.

In such a case the log list tells you

In order to prevent leaking compromising information with misdirected

- the POP3 download of incoming nym mail also doesn't require specific
mail client features.

So AFAICS with nyms there's no urgent need of custom headers.

You can test all that in a safe way with OM in Simulation Mode.
