The OS will allocate some memory to enable the CPU to talk to the
GPU/iGPU. If you got an independent GPU card, less memory will be used
for graphics.

You can always use the Clear CMOS jumper/button to reset BIOS settings
to defaults after unplugging the independent GPU, thus usually enables
the iGPU.
