After modifying it (even without modifying spaces or anything else other than
translating the words into Spanish) when I see it in the BBS the variables &1,
&2, etc. "disappear".

Any ideas?

It doesn't happen to me in other ANSIs (at least for now).

ANSIMRD is an "old 1990s" type of template so there is a specific way you need
to edit it for it to work. (I really need to replace it with the much easier
to work with .ini/.ans that other features use).

Its hard for me to tell what is wrong without seeing your specific ANSI.
