With supply issues and the fact that people knew the Apple Silicon Macs

And the "supply issues" largely involves Intel CPUs and PC chipsets.
Because after 10 years of declining sales, no one is building new PC
chip factories. Notice that Apple has no problem having record quarter
after record quarter with iPhones and iPads.

The last couple years have been a blip on the PC sales radar. PC sales
briefly went up because everyone was suddenly working from home. Why?
Because no one had a Windows PC at home. Why? Because they did not
need one.

Now that most people are back to work in offices, we can expect PC sales
to drop again in the next year or so. In fact, new PC sales might
really crash as people sell their home Windows PCs because they are not
needed anymore. A glut of used Windows PCs on eBay would really drive
down the sales of new Windows PCs.

I would not be surprised to see a Dell/Lenovo/HP/Asus/take your pick
merger. That's what happens when too many companies are competing in a
shrinking market.

40%? REALLY? Gartner says a more realistic 18% unit sales increase compared to actual dollar sales as reported by Apple up 25%. Still, given the huge overall decline that's impressive. No one else in the space has anything comparable to the M-series processor tech that likely has Mac enthusiasts trading up and winning over new customers too.
