Monterey is available for my M1 Mini. I'm going for it. Wish me luck!

Most reports are saying Monterey is basically a progression update,
like Snow Leopard was to Leopard, with it fixing some problems, and
seeming speedier and more efficient than Big Sur.

A lot of the new "big feature" gimmicks only work with an M1, so you
will get those too (some are yet to be enabled though).

So far, so good. Maybe it's faster. It said it was optimizing for a
while. I did have to run the installer as admin. In my user account, the
installer said I had to validate my one and only drive, so I switched to
admin for the install, and that worked. Maybe I did this routine last
time. I forget. It was a year ago.
Other than that, everything seems the same. Maybe, I ought to read up on
the benefits. slrn 1.0.2 works, obviously. Nothing appears broken.

I've got a late 2014 iMac so my system doesn't support upgrading to
Monterey.

Interestingly, though, it runs just fine in a VM on my system (and I'm
still using Parallels v15 which predates Big Sur -- the current version
is 17). The "about this Mac" box in the parallels VM still reports a
late 2014 iMac.
