Wife's Motorola Z4 mid 2019 got one OS update, 9 to 10, and a few security updates over her 4 years of use. Android 12 is the current version.

Apple supports iPhone 8, released 9/22/17, 5.5 years ago, with OS and security updates. I know, I updated a friend's 8 yesterday. He's 91 and not at all tech savvy.
