We now have to document fully shipments to the EU
In particular we are sending an Archimedes to a customers work address in
Austria

In the UK we would put
Mr Fred Bloggs
C/O Big company GMBH (His work address)

Can anyone tell what the equivent in Austria and other EU countries is for
C/O (Care of) please?

Chris Evans

c/o seems to be valid at least in Germany also and in same address scheme
as for UK. However it is not very common. More common is

Big company GMBH
z.H. Mr Fred Bloggs

however in sense of law this is not the same! So I would use

Mr Fred Bloggs
c/o Big company GMBH

I'm guessing Chris' point is that Fred Bloggs should be responsible for
import taxes/etc, rather than Big Company GMBH. And that Fred Bloggs is
simply using them as a post office rather than exposing their accounts
department to liability for fees. In other words the legal 'person' buying
and importing the goods is Fred not BigCo.

I don't know how this works but I would have expected there to be some
standard way to convey this on shipping documentation, irrespective of
language.
