Hi folks,

After a few.. *ahem* .. decades since I was a Usenet admin, I am once again
setting up a server. I would like to find some peers. I have no desire
to have binaries, but aim to be reasonably comprehensive otherwise.

Information follows:

Path hostname: news.quux.org
Send to, accept from: news.quux.org
Static IPv4: 142.4.200.132 (reverse glockenspiel.complete.org)
Hierarchies: *,!*.bina*,!*.bain*,!*.dateien*,!*.pictures*,!junk/!local
Contact: John Goerzen <jgoerzen@complete.org>
Cleanfeed: Yes
Location: Montreal, Canada

Software: INN 2.6.4, Debian 11, ZFS
Hardware: Xeon server (dedicated), Intel enterprise SSD
Connectivity: OVH datacenter, dedicated
(I am aware this is overkill for INN; This system also runs other
services.)

I ran the INN server for an ISP back in the late 90s for a spell. Compiled
INN for BSD/OS, maintained it for our customers, and even managed some
UUCP feeds for a few that used that.

complete.org (which also hosts quux.org) had Usenet access via UUCP from that
same ISP, before I worked there, beginning in 1995.

It is interesting to see how much has changed -- and how much hasn't. I am
looking forward to being back.

Thank you,

- John
