The M1 Ultra with UltraFusion sounds like something from a Marvel movie,
but this new chip kicks major ass. It makes the new Mac Studio
significantly faster than a 28 core Mac Pro, in a squat cube-ish cousin
of the Mac mini, featuring up to 128GB of RAM, 6 Thunderbolt ports, and
support for up to 4 27" "Apple Studio" Displays at 5K each, AND a 4K TV
at the same time.

You can get the entry level Mac Studio (with M1 Max) for $2000 or max it
out at $8000 (128GB RAM, 8TB SSD, M1 Ultra with 20 cores and 64 GPUs).
The 5K Apple Studio display is $1600 with a iMac style stand or VESA
mount. A ';floating" adjustable stand reminiscent of the G4 iMac or the
XDR display is a $400 option. It connects over Thunderbolt, has 3 USB-C
ports, a Center Stage camera and a speaker array that supports spatial
audio. Mine is arriving in a month.

For people wondering about the iMac Pro, this is it. A modular Mac, but
clearly a replacement for the iMac Pro. The 27" iMac that was still
available yesterday is no longer a product.

A lot more punch than I need. The Max will suffice. But - yes, quite
impressive - edge connecting two chips that way.

True enough - but still not a replacement for the iMac Pro. More to

Why wouldn't it be?

In what ways is it at all inferior to the iMac Pro?

Assuming that is supposed to link to the "On more to come at a future
date"¹, that is the Mac Pro, not an iMac Pro.

¹ It links to the very end of the video.

In what way?

Mac Studio
o Uses a Pro level chip
o Supports 128GB of RAM
o 6 TB and 2 USB-A
o 5K 27" display
o Gigabit Ethernet
o SD card reader
o Super fast SSD internal storage
iMac Pro
o Uses a Pro levl chip
o Supports 256GB of RAM
o 4 TB and 4 USB-A
o 5K 27" display
o 10 Ggabit Ethernet
o SD card reader
o Really fast SSD internal storage

> More to come I 'spect.

Maybe, but I seriously doubt it.

The next machine, and last, will be the Mac Pro (probably previewed at
WWDC).

The Mac Studio clearly covers the features and price range of the iMac
Pro.
