hi,

I doesn't undertand :

when i do a sudo apt update, all packages are up-to-date.

But, when i use the update manager, it shows me 2 packages to be updated.

Why the apt update doesn't show me this packages ?

Emmanuel

Just do a sudo apt dist-update -f -f means force update of
possibly some packages , but you can also omit -f

My apology I should have typed sudo apt dist-upgrade -f

apt update is a bit missleading. It updates what packages are available, it does not update packages. Kinda got me too when I first
started playing with Linux.

If it's just that you want to do updates from the command line you could
use the mintupdate-cli tool:

$ mintupdate-cli -h
usage: mintupdate-cli [-h] [-k | -s] [-i IGNORE] [-r] [-d] [-y]
[--install-recommends] [--keep-configuration] [-v]
command
...

Lends itself well to scripting and/or integration with tools like zenity
and notify-send.

Did you install Linux Mint 20 as fresh install or did you upgrade vom a
older version (19, 18...)?

===========
You really don't need sudo apt update
Just do sudo apt dist-upgrade -f -f= force but is not essential
