transferred a considerable amount of money from bank to building society
roday, which tripped* the bank's fraud alert, eventually they sent me a
text, and I needed to send a "Y" reply, but it refused to send, even
though I had replied to a similar text back in April.

I tried turning off RCS and VoWiFi just in case.

spoke to O2 customer service, they checked and said there was no
restriction on my account, suggested I call Google.

I spoke to my bank and they were able to authorise it "manually", but I
suspect the same could happen again, and I will have similar
transactions in the near future.

When it worked in April, I was with VM, so I suspect it's the change to
O2 wot dunnit, but what else can I check?

[*] strangely, an even larger sum yesterday didn't trip the alert, so
it's difficult to see how they claim to "protect" elderly Mrs Miggins
from a transfer fraud if they don't question the first large transfer.

Mr Fraudteam was quite pleasant, but it took about 10 minutes of logging
on to mobile banking, confirming I was speaking to him by name, reciting
my name, address, date of birth, NI number, confirming amount and payee
name, persuading him that I had decided to do the transfer of my own
free will, it couldn't possibly be fraud, nobody was standing behind me
with a gun at my head etc
