"Windows 10 to be retired in 2025, as new OS unveils

Microsoft says it will stop supporting Windows 10 in 2025, as it
prepares to unveil a major revamp of its Windows operating system later
this month.

When Windows 10 was launched, Microsoft said it was intended to be the
final version of the operating system.

But from 14 October 2025, there will be no new updates or security fixes
for either the Home or Pro versions.

And Microsoft says its successor will represent one of the "most
significant updates" to the OS in the past decade."

One wondered how long the 'last version of Windows' myth would last! I
guess they're missing the revenue from continuously forcing people to
upgrade.

"one of the "most significant updates" to the OS in the past decade"

I see the notion of "it's our best OS yet" has stepped
out of the marketing lexicon :-/

"it's on every OEM computer... we're not sure why"

Good, good, getting closer to the truth.

According to that article, win 7 was the predecessor to Win 10.

Windows 8 is like New Coke. That is, it was so bad it made it's
successor look better.
