Have you contacted NewsTap's developer. As I recall, he's been pretty
responsive in the past.

I’m using NewsTap now with SSL ticked and the port set to 563 on my IPad
Mini 5 running iPadOS 16 beta. Seems to be no problem now. I note that
selecting SSL in NewsTap does not automatically change the port setting. I
think my earlier post about there being a problem with Usenapp was
incorrect as it seems to be working OK now with SSL / port 563. So I’m
left wondering if there was a short period problem with e-s.

Yes, and he spotted the problem from the logs. Reader.eternal… returns an
error, news.eternal… does not; change server, and all is well. But it
seemed to need a reset of all NGs.

If there was a problem with the SSL on the ES side, many more people
would have noticed.
