It's coming up to the end of the year, which means it's time for all
the usual annual retrospective articles and gimmicks. Valve's take on
this is it's "Year in Review", where it summarizes the games you have
played over the past year - or at least, the ones you played through
steam - in several handy charts and graphics.

Assuming you have a Steam account and are logged into it, you can
check out your own here: https://store.steampowered.com/yearinreview/

My numbers are - unsurprisingly - not too different than last year;
roughly the same number of games, same achievements, same everything.
Some things stuck out: November was the month I played the most Steam
games (July was second place), and I play a heck of a lot more games
than the average player.

Steam also seems to think I've played a lot of games with a controller
for some reason. I guess if I have a controller plugged in (or maybe
the device occasionally gets joggled?) it automatically counts that
entire session as 'using a controller'. That inaccuracy annoys me a
lot more than it probably should. ;-)

Anyway, a fun way to recap (some) of the time you've spent playing
video games this year. Take a look and see if it sparks any
interesting memories or thoughts.

Interesting, looks like I've deprecated Steam in 2023. My biggest month
was January with "Deliver us the Moon". "Portal with RTX" shows up in
July.

I guess my biggest time sinks this year were my GTA replays (the shiny
"Definitive Edition") and the System Shock Remake. GTA was on Epic and
System Shock on GoG so apparently that didn't leave much for Steam.

Yeah no games in August for me Steam - I played
Witcher 3
Baldur's Gate 3
Nova Drift

....all on GOG.

I don't appear to have much this month either, I've been mostly playing
Bloodborne on PS+ Premium. Which is looking like a mistake as my data
usage has gone through the roof nearing 1.2 TB and my wife is getting
overage warnings. We're trying to upgrade for another $10 a month
instead of paying $10 for every 50gb, but having trouble getting it to
work from the website. I do a lot of remote assistance for work, so I'm
sure that's not helping either.

I'm laying off the Bloodborne for now, I was actually starting to get
bored of it anyway. There's very little weapon variety and no spells,
so I don't really have much in experimentation to do with fights which
is my favorite thing. I thought I was about halfway, but looked at some
guides and I'm only up to installment 16 of 46!
